World Book Day Virtual Celebration 2020

World Book Day Virtual Celebration 2020

T

heme “Reading is lit”

The National Librarian and CEO of the National Library of South Africa (NLSA), Mr Kepi Madumo invites the members of the media to join him in a virtual celebration of the World Book Day under the theme “Reading is lit”. The theme resonates well with youth as it promotes reading as being fun, exciting and cool.

Highlights of the virtual celebration will include the National Librarian and CEO and Executive Management of the NLSA reading and/or reviewing books in indigenous languages. The public will also be encouraged to share, on the NLSA’s social media platforms, what they are currently reading. The celebration will also promote indigenous languages by sharing reviews of the NLSA’s Classics (part of the Reprint of the Classic Project) and biographies of the authors.

The virtual Celebration will run from 23 to 30 April 2020.

Due to the national lockdown currently underway in South Africa the virtual Celebration will be hosted on the NLSA’s social media platforms and website.
